On the first night of Hanuka

We as a family have decided to celebrate Hanuka. If you listen to the video of the lighting of the Menorah on the first night we explain the holiday. We want it to be a part of our lives, as it celebrates God's provision, and the act of re-dedication. Here is a video:

We went to Lexington this weekend. My great grandma and grandpa were in from Florida, and I got to meet them for the first time. It was also the first time I met my cousin, Mahogany (Mommy's bonus sister, Miranda's baby). We took quite a few cute pics.

here it is, finally.

I know that some of you have asked what Katie would like for the holidays. I know that some of you have bought things already, and I have no doubt it will be great. Here are a few ideas-- no pressure to get something off of the list!!

( I just went off of listmanias, and recommendations from amazon, so my guess is really as good as any)

Playdate on Monday

We had a really good time at Anne-Marie's house on Monday for the playdate. I looked around at the other babies, and we made a cute little craft for Christmas. We traced my hands and one of my feet, and made into a reindeer. Mommy's friend Michelle says that they do it every year, to help show how much her children have grown. Hopefully we will remember next year and keep up the tradition.

Here are a few pictures.

Here I am eating one of Riley's toys:

This is Anne-Marie (our hostess with the mostest) and Riley:

This is me, Riley, and Abby:

This is Michelle and Christian doing a puzzle- they live right down the road from us!

And this is the other mommies and babies there, Ashley and Riley and Jamie and Rachel:

The babies were all older than me, so far it doesn't look like I picked anything up from them, but I was watching them crawl, roll over, and walk around. It will be my turn soon!

We are going this weekend back to Lexington, and I get to spend some time with lots of family, and I get to meet my Great Grandma Shields. More to come!

I'm a princess

I have a new pretty dress. Mommy and Daddy put me in it yesterday to go to church. They found it at the Disney store in NYC.

We went to Lexington to visit on Friday. I was feeling better, and I had a great day. Mommy and Nikki were acting crazy and having fun. I got to be held pretty much all day. My Grandma, my Nana, Nannie, Pat. And my cousins Maddie and Allie, both had a really good time playing with me, feeding me and holding me. I can't wait to visit again.

Here I am with Pappaw. He makes me laugh! He is also a lot of fun to cuddle with:

Here I am with Nikki holding me:

Here is Nana rocking me to sleep-- Her trick was to put a pillow under me while rocking me so I didn't notice the temperature change when she put me down:

I really like Great Grandma, and she really like to cuddle me. I liked the way that she fed me too-- I complained when Mommy tried to take me back.

Here I am with my cousins Maddie and Allie-- they are a lot of fun.

I am going to a playdate later today, so hopefully Mommy will remember her camera and take lots of pretty pictures.

My first cold

Keep me in your thoughts because I have my first cold. I have been fussy, and not wanting to eat very much the since Sunday afternoon. Mommy is giving me tylenol and cuddling me a lot, but there isn't really much to be done. I have been sleeping a lot extra.

I did get to ride in the new car today, but sadly it was only to go to the doctor. This is what the car looks like, except it is a deep blue.

Big day

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit today. We had a really good time. My grandpa played with me and made faces at me, and Grandma helped me to get to sleep a few times. We don't see them often enough, and it was great to have them over.

Here are a few pics from the playdate (they are from Tracy, but Mommy forgot her camera. I had a good time, even though I had to take a nap for a good part of the time. Bryson had a crawl and go ball, and I had a good time playing with it! I eventually got mad, because I couldn't fit it into my mouth:

Mommy finally got a video of me rolling over! I am doing it more and more each day!

Cereal

We went to the Doctor yesterday. I am doing great, and growing as I should be. Here are my stats:

height: 23 3/4 (45%)
weight: 12 lb 15 oz (25%)
head: 16 (45%)

He also said that I am not actually cutting a tooth-- so that first is a little farther away than we thought! He gave the go-ahead to start rice cereal, which we did this morning.
At first I did not know what to think, and mostly cried, but then I sort of got the hang of it. At first I just let it sit in my mouth, and the only way I would swallow is to suck on my thumb :) Mommy isn't sure how much I actually ate, because we made a big mess, and I liked to spit it back out. We had a lot of fun, and can't wait to do it again though.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I just got home from a wonderful thanksgiving in NJ with Momma, Daddy, Granny and Grandpa Kosiner. I did great on my first plane trip-- I cried a little at take off, but otherwise slept all the way through. It was a new place, and new people, so my schedule was a little off, but I had a great time. Granny sang to me, and played with me, and I smiled a lot at Grandpa being silly.
I rolled over a few more times, and Mommy thinks that I am doing it more intentionally. I am also beginning to cut a tooth, so I have been drooling all over, and I have been in a little bit of pain. I started realizing more of what my hands can do, I am getting better at putting things in my mouth, and I was holding my bottle a little bit. I found it by accident the first time, and then Mommy helped me some too, so I could learn what I can do. Here is a picture:

Mommy and Daddy went into the city and saw Wicked on Broadway. I hear that it is really good and I can't wait until I am old enough to see it myself. They also went to the Disney store and bought me a cute dress I can't wait to get into.

Before we left, we had a family picture done, and some winter shots of just me. They came out really well! Here are Mommy's favorites.

Here is another cute picture of me today talking to Nanna on the phone. I didn't quite know what to think about it, but I babbled a little bit.
